China Tightens Automobile and Motorcycle Export Licence Requirements for 2020
Car and motorcycle exporters will have to contend with stringent new requirements – largely relating to aftercare and quality control – next year following the introduction of new regulations by the General Office of the Ministry of Commerce.
In the case of automobile / motorcycle manufacturers they will be obliged to provide their relevant local Department of Commerce with a list of their appointed overseas after-sales repair centres, details of the services provided and general details of their overseas after-sales repair service networks and overseas workshops. Manufacturers of all-terrain vehicles, meanwhile, must additionally submit valid ISO9000 quality management certificates and copies of any relevant international certification relating to the importing jurisdiction.
The authenticity of all submitted materials will be subject to verification by the Ministry of Commerce, with any exporter found to be submitting false or misleading information likely to be barred from engaging in any further automobile / motorcycle export-related activities.
Full details can be found in the Circular on Doing A Good Job of Automobile and Motorcycle Export Licence Applications in 2020, as recently issued by the Ministry of Commerce.
