China Updates CCC-Exemption Guidelines

The State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) assumed responsibility for all CCC exemption applications as of 1 April this year. In line with this, any such application must now be submitted to the appropriate regional Market Regulation office, together with all the stipulated supporting documentation.

In order to be eligible for CCC exemption, products must fall into one or more of the following categories:

  • Products / product samples required for the purposes of scientific research, testing or certification inspection
  • Spare parts / products required for repair purposes by end-users directly
  • Equipment / spare parts required by manufacturing production lines
  • Products for commercial display purposes that will not be offered for sale
  • Imported spare parts exported in their entirety as integrated units
