As of 15 September, the level of export tax rebates related to electromechanical goods and certain cultural handicrafts has been raised. As outlined in a joint announcement from the Ministry of Finance and the State Administration of Taxation, these updated rates apply across three different bands:

  • For multi-component integrated circuits and non-electromagnetic interference filters, as well as books and newspapers, the new rate will be 16%
  • For cultural handicrafts, such as bamboo carvings and wooden fans, the new rate will be 13%
  • For basalt fibres and their derivatives, as well as a range of other goods (including safety pins), the new rate will be 9%
