Guangdong Announces Protection Safety Alert Period Up to End of October

According to the website of the Guangdong provincial government, Guangdong recently issued a circular on fully strengthening production safety inspection work and making all-out efforts to safeguard the stability of production safety. The circular specifies a special safeguard period lasting from the date of issue to 31 October 2017. During this period, all localities, departments and units in the province will further strengthen production safety inspection and launch special campaigns to address safety issues in an effort to resolutely forestall the occurrence of serious production safety incidents.

Meanwhile, the province’s safety regulatory system immediately organised safety inspection for the resumption of production and work after the Spring Festival. Starting from the latter part of February, officers from the provincial production safety supervision bureau will lead 10 inspection teams to conduct inspections on the implementation of safety measures for work during the special safeguard period.

The circular stresses the need to do well work in several respects, including the strengthening of implementation of the enterprise responsibility system and the enhancement of enterprises’ self-awareness in conducting production safety inspection, the deepening of safety risk checkups and identification in order to strictly oversee and control high-risk points and sources of hazard, as well as strict law enforcement to increase the effectiveness of the work of production safety inspection and checkups.
