NDRC Announces Overall Plan for Eco-Friendly and Integrated Development of YRD

China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) recently released the Overall Plan for the Demonstration Zone for Eco-Friendly and Integrated Development of the Yangtze River Delta. The plan sets out the objective of making this demonstration zone the benchmark for higher-quality integrated development. It also calls for using better-quality, higher-efficiency and more robust drivers to lead Yangtze River Economic (YRD) Belt development, and setting an example in leading the high-quality development for the whole country.  

With a total area of 2,300 sq km, the demonstration zone spans the Qingpu district of Shanghai, Wujiang district of Suzhou in Jiangsu province, and Jiashan county of Jiaxing city in Zhejiang province. Slated for pilot launch are Jinze and Zhujiajiao towns in Qingpu district, Lili town in Wujiang district, and Xitang and Yaozhuang towns in Jiashan county, with a total area of about 660 sq km.
