New Domain Name for Online Patent Applications

The patent e-filing service of the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) changed its domain name to http://cponline.sipo.gov.cn on 1 September 2017 and stopped using the previous address http://www.cponline.gov.cn. The business handled by the website stays the same. The change was made in accordance with the requirements for domain-name specifications put forward in the Circular of the State Council General Office on Issuing the Guideline for Government Website Development.

E-filing in this case refers to patent application documents filed via the internet that comply with the specifications. The applicant may file applications and intermediate documents electronically to the SIPO for invention, utility model and design patents, as well as international applications and intermediate documents in the Chinese national phase.
