Presence of Consignors/Consignees Not Required for Inspection of Goods Amid Epidemic

In order to ensure the speedy inspection and release of inbound and outbound goods, reduce human-to-human contact and prevent the transmission of the novel coronavirus, the presence of consignors/consignees is not currently required for customs inspection of goods. Consignors/consignees are being given the following options to assist customs inspection without actually having to be present.

Full details can be found in the Announcement on Exempting the Presence of Consignors/Consignees for Inspection of Goods Amid the Pneumonia Epidemic Caused by the Novel Coronavirus (Announcement No. 24 [2020]), issued recently by the General Administration of Customs.
