Shijiazhuang Comprehensive Bonded Zone Passes State Acceptance Check

The Shijiazhuang Comprehensive Bonded Zone recently passed the acceptance check carried out by the joint acceptance group formed by 10 ministries and commissions and headed by the General Administration of Customs and was awarded the acceptance certificate. This comprehensive bonded zone will fill the gap in the special customs supervision area in central-south Hebei and help the further opening up of Hebei. This will help Hebei take over some of the modern manufacturing industries of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region that have a high level of liberalisation and strong dynamics and promote the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

According to an official of the Shijiazhuang Comprehensive Bonded Zone, the zone will develop into a comprehensive bonded zone with basic industries on the basis of the integrated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and the construction of the Central-South Hebei Economic Zone and centring round the national strategy of the Belt and Road Initiative. It will mainly develop bonded processing, bonded logistics, bonded services and cross-border e-commerce.

In bonded processing, priority will be given to the development of high-end equipment, semiconductor and integrated circuits, biomedicine and high-end textiles and garments. In bonded logistics, the main focus is to develop international commercial logistics, manufacturing logistics, port logistics and third-party logistics (3PL). In bonded services, steps will be taken to accelerate the importation and development of cross-border e-commerce, service outsourcing, financial leasing, aircraft maintenance, financial innovation, trade shows and other business formats.

The Shijiazhuang Comprehensive Bonded Zone is located in the core area of the Shijiazhuang Airport Industrial Park, a provincial development zone of Hebei. With the Zhengding International Airport to the west and the Beijing-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway to the south, it is a comprehensive bonded zone for air transport and railways. It has a planned area of 5 km2 and an approved area of 2.86 km2, including a fenced-in area of 2.49 km2. Fence, access points and other infrastructure projects have now been completed and 58 projects are set to move into the zone.
