Streamlined Cosmetics Import Procedures Trialled in Hengqin New Area

The required procedures for importing non-special-use cosmetics via the Zhuhai Hengqin New Area, part of the Guangdong Pilot Free Trade Zone, have been streamlined. With effect from 23 July 2018, it has only been necessary to file the relevant records and secure the confirmatory certification, rather than seek prior administrative approval, when importing such items. In order to be eligible for this fast-track process, however, the importer’s designated representative must be registered within the Hengqin New Area.

This arrangement will remain in force until 21 December 2018.
