Argentina Expands Scope of Import Licencing Requirements

The Argentinean government has again amended through Resolution 264/2016 the list of items subject to non-automatic import licencing by adding goods classified under NCM 3207.20.10, 3207.20.99, 3207.30.00, 3207.40.10, 3207.40.90, 4703.21.00 (only certain items), 4804.11.00, 4805.93.00 (only certain items), 4807.00.00, 8421.23.00, 8421.31.00, 8421.39.20, 8421.99.10, 8421.99.99, 8481.80.19 (only certain items), 8481.90.10 and 9506.61.00. While this action is effective 10 September, the licencing requirements will not apply to goods that (i) were shipped to Argentina as their final destination by land, sea or air and were loaded onto the applicable means of transportation by 9 September; or (ii) were in the primary customs area because they arrived prior to 10 September.
