Argentina Extends Preferential Duty Treatment for Anti-Hail Net

Argentina has extended for a period of ten years the preferential duty treatment and value-added tax exemption in place for anti-hail net from all sources. Specifically, finished anti-hail net will continue to benefit from a reduced five percent duty while certain raw materials used in the production of anti-hail net will continue to benefit from duty-free treatment. Additionally, the sale and importation of anti-hail net, certain raw materials thereof, and materials/elements needed to install anti-hail protection systems will continue to receive a VAT exemption.

This flexibility applies to anti-hail net of high-density/low pressure polyethylene monofilament, with a certified ultraviolet treatment, for agricultural use, classified under NCM 5803.00.90 and 6005.37.00, with a minimum impact resistance of 20 mm of hail at 40 metres per second, a maximum shade of 20 percent, and a useful life of at least seven years. Also covered are various raw materials classified under the following tariff lines and meeting certain specific technical characteristics: 3206.11.19, 3206.19.10, 3206.49.90, 3812.39.29, 3901.20.29 and 5404.19.90.
