Argentina Implements Mercosur Standards for Household Pesticide Products
Argentina has incorporated into its domestic legal regime the Mercosur regulations for household pesticide products (Mercosur Common Market Group Resolution 18/2010). These requirements will enter into force 30 days after the Mercosur Secretariat notifies member states that all the required domestic legal procedures have been completed Mercosur-wide.
GMC Resolution 18/2010 covers household pesticides for the control of insects, rodents and other nuisance or harmful pests, including pesticides used in common grounds and public buildings. Among other things, it sets forth a number of general characteristics and toxicity limits for these products, including insecticides, biologic insecticides, rodenticides and repellents. It also includes provisions regarding complementary components, quantity per container, labelling, and information required for the technical report of the product.
