In addition, these valve types must generally meet the minimum thickness requirements of ASME B 16.34 or EN 12.516-1 (or API 6A in certain instances) and comply with the current technical provisions on pressure equipment.

Moreover, the primary packaging of the product must include information on the name and/or brand of the producer and/or importer; description, code, number and model; reference standard for manufacture; general dimensions in millimetres (length, height and width); unit weight in kilogrammes; quantity in units; country of origin; fluid category in accordance with Resolution 348/2018; and safety seal, whenever applicable. Each product must also bear an indication of its nominal diameter and maximum working pressure or class (pressure/temperature) in accordance with ASTM B16.34. Valve bodies and covers must be identified as provided under ASTM A703 and ASTM A961, as applicable, or by means of a non-removable plate.
