Argentina Temporarily Suspends Technical Requirements for Electric Metres

The Argentinean government has suspended the application of Resolution 90/2012 setting forth technical requirements for electric metres for a period of 30 days or until the issuance of new technical requirements for these products, whichever occurs first. Prior to this action, Argentina had temporarily suspended the application of these requirements in numerous occasions.

The requirements in question apply to active alternating current electric metres for use in measurements subject to commercial transactions. Resolution 90/2012 sets forth a number of mechanical requirements, operating conditions, accuracy standards, electrical and software protection requirements, and requirements related to model approval and technical documentation, terms of reference, and initial and periodic verifications.
