Argentina Unveils Technical Requirements for Certain Sensors, Seeks Input on Energy Standards for Cooking Appliances

Argentina recently unveiled new mandatory technical requirements for atmospheric sensors and fuel sensors installed in household products. Atmospheric sensors will be required to comply with standard NAG-309 – Año 2018, which incorporates the technical requirements of Mercosur Common Market Group Resolution 5/2018, while fuel sensors will be required to comply with standard NAG-310 – Año 2018, which incorporates the technical requirements of Mercosur GMC Resolution 4/2018, effective four years from their date of entry into force. These standards set forth minimum requirements and test methods related to the operation of, as well as warning language for, subject merchandise.

Separately, Argentina is seeking input from interested parties by 8 December on a proposal to amend the energy efficiency labelling requirements for household cooking products that operate with gaseous fuels. The current energy efficiency labelling requirements for these products are laid out in standard NAG-312 (2010).
