Brazil Implements Customs Co-operation Agreement with Mainland China

Brazil has implemented the bi-lateral customs co-operation agreement that it signed with mainland China in 2012. The main objective of the deal is to promote collaboration between the customs administrations of both parties to ensure the correct application of regulatory requirements, enhance the security of the international logistics chain, and prevent, investigate and prosecute illegal activities. The agreement has provisions regarding scope of general assistance, specific types of information, specific types of assistance, general assistance procedures, execution of requests, confidentiality of information, exceptions, presence of officials in the customs territory of the other party, implementation of the agreement, application and entry into force.
