CPSC Recalls Certain Bicycles Made in Mainland China

The CPSC has announced a recall of certain bicycles made in mainland China.

Bicycles. Trek Bicycle Corporation has issued a recall for about 2,840 bicycles because their front fender bolt can unthread, causing the wheel to detach from the bike and posing a fall hazard to the user. This recall involves all model year 2017, 2018 and 2019 Trek Super Commuter+ 8S electric bikes. The bike has an integrated battery and motor and “Trek” is printed on the downtube. The recalled bikes were sold in Viper Red with black decals and in sizes 45/S through 60/XL by independent bike stores nationwide and on-line at www.trekbikes.com and other websites from June 2017 through June 2019.
