CPSC Recalls Various Products Made in Hong Kong and Mainland China

The CPSC has announced the following recalls of products made in mainland China.

Magnetic Maps
Cinmar LLC has recalled about 4,500 magnetic travel maps because when two or more magnets are swallowed they can link together inside the intestines and clamp onto body tissues, causing intestinal obstruction, perforations, sepsis and death. This recall involves World Magnetic travel maps with a burlwood frame. The world maps measure 54 inches wide and 36 inches tall and come with 50 magnetic markers. Maps affected by this recall have item number 145684 printed on the packaging. They were sold exclusively at Frontgate retail and outlet stores and on-line at www.frontgate.com from October 2015 through March 2016.

Patio Chairs
Brown Jordan Services Inc. has issued a recall for some 265,000 patio chairs in the United States and about 16,000 patio chairs in Canada because the base of these chairs can break during normal use, posing a fall hazard. This recall involves Hampton Bay Fall River swivel dining and lounge chairs made of steel with a round swivel base and arm rests. The chairs have a red or green cushion or are prepared for a custom slipcover with white liner fabric covering the cushions. Chairs were sold in either sets of two or as part of patio sets, which included accompanying patio tables. They were sold exclusively at Home Depot stores nationwide and on-line at homedepot.com from October 2012 through January 2015.

Portable Generators
Kohler Power Systems is recalling about 7,000 portable generators in the United States and approximately 230 portable generators in Canada because they have a wiring error that can result in an electrical shock risk if an electrical device is plugged into the generator. This recall involves Kohler portable generator models PRO3.7, PRO3.7E, PRO5.2, PRO5.2E and GEN5.0 with specification number PA-GEN50-3003. These generators have black frame assemblies and blue fuel tanks. The PRO3.7, PRO5.2 and GEN5.0 models have manual recoil start and the PRO3.7E and PRO5.2E models have both manual recoil and electric start. Only generators with serial number 4528733735 or lower and a manufacture date prior to 06 2016, representing the months and year of manufacture, are included in this recall. These products were sold by authorised Kohler distributors and dealers from June 2014 through May 2016.

Glass Sets
Dennis East International has recalled about 1,200 whiskey glass and stone sets because the glass can spontaneously break during use, posing a laceration hazard to consumers. The recalled sets include a 16 once clear glass, four grey chilling stones and a black cloth bag. They have SKU number SKU 30335 and were sold at Providence Creations, Javic Wholesale and Woot stores as well as on-line at Woot.com from May 2015 through July 2016.

Wire Stretchers
SpeeCo Inc. has recalled about 60,000 wire stretchers in the United States and about 1,800 wire stretchers in Canada because a recoiling wire can be released from the stretcher unexpectedly and strike bystanders, posing a laceration hazard. This recall involves SpeeCo’s fence wire stretchers, with or without a ratchet control, used for gripping and tightening any type of wire. The black stretcher measures about 12 inches high, one inch wide and 32 inches long and has a rubber grip on the lever handle. SpeeCo and model S16111500, S161115TSC or S16112000 are printed on a label on the product packaging. These products were sold at Ace and True Value hardware stores and other supply and farm ranch stores nationwide and on-line at Amazon.com from April 2015 through August 2016.
