CPSC Recalls Various Products Made in Mainland China
The CPSC has announced the following recalls of products made in mainland China.
Coldwater Creek has recalled about 43 snow globes because light refraction through the globes can singe or melt items in contact with or in the immediate proximity, posing a fire hazard. This recall involves two snow globes with a reindeer or a snowman inside. The Reindeer snow globe has two white reindeer inside as well as a brown and cream base with a wind-up key at the bottom. This snow globe has style number 13826 and model number XC7484. The Vintage Charm snow globe, style number 13660 and model number 3WGL120, has a silver snowman inside and a silver base. The Grasslands Road logo and style number appear on separate labels located on the underside of the globe. These products were sold exclusively at Coldwater Creek stores nationwide, through the Coldwater Creek catalogue and on-line at www.coldwatercreek.com from October through December 2017.
Power Adapter Wall Plugs
Fujifilm North America Corp. is recalling some 270,000 power adapter wall plugs in the United States as well as approximately 24,000 power adapter wall plugs in Canada because they can crack, break or detach and remain in the wall, exposing live electrical contacts that pose a shock hazard. This recall involves AC-5VF power adapter wall plugs sold with Fujifilm digital camera models XP90, XP95, XP120, XP125, X-A3 and X-A10. The digital cameras were sold in a variety of colours. The recalled wall plugs are black and are combined with a power adapter and USB cord that plugs into the adapter. Model number AC-5VF is printed on the back of the power adapter and the serial number is printed on the bottom of the camera or under the battery compartment lid. These products were sold by mass merchandisers and electronics and membership club stores nationwide as well as on-line at Amazon.com and other websites. The XP90 and XP95 were sold from June 2016 through January 2018, the XP120 and XP125 were sold from January 2017 through January 2018, the X-A3 was sold from October 2016 through January 2018, and the X-A10 was sold from February 2017 through January 2018.
Hillsdale Furniture LLC has issued a recall for about 500 bar stools because the stool seat can loosen or break off at the base, posing a fall hazard to the user. This recall involves Polston and Collin models of swivel backless bar stools. The Polston bar stools have a tan seat cushion and a metal base with four legs. They were sold in a mocha colour and in two sizes: counter height at 26 inches tall and bar height at 30 inches tall. The Collin bar stools have a wooden seat and a metal base with four legs. They were sold in mocha and white colours in bar height at 30 inches tall. Recalled model numbers include 6316-826, 6316-830, 6327-831 and 6316-832. These bar stools were sold at Bellacor, Bob’s Discount Furniture, Platte Furniture Mart, Rooms to Go, Alladin and Lamps Plus stores nationwide as well as on-line at 123stores.com, Overstock.com, bedbathandbeyond.com, Hayneedle.com, PurchasingPower.com, Wayfair.com and Zulily.com from March through December 2017.
Bed Bath & Beyond has announced a recall of about 175,000 comforters in the United States and about 20 comforters in Canada because mould can be present in these products, posing a risk of respiratory or other infections in individuals with compromised immune systems, damaged lungs or an allergy to mould. This recall involves Hudson comforters by UGG. The polyester comforters were sold in garnet, navy, grey and oatmeal colours as well as in twin, full/queen and king sizes. They were sold at Bed Bath & Beyond stores nationwide and on-line at www.bedbathandbeyond.com from August through October 2017.
Fashion Accessory Bazaar has recalled about 20,000 fidget spinner keychains because the centre post on the fidget spinner can become loose or fall out, posing a choking hazard. This recall involves Pokemon fidget spinner keychains, which consist of a silver metal key ring with a metal bar attached to it and a Pokemon-themed fidget spinner on the end of the metal bar. The fidget spinners are red and white in the centre and yellow around the outside. They measure about half an inch high by 2.5 inches wide by 4.5 inches long and were sold at Bonita Marie Int., Gamestop, Wonderland stores and other stores nationwide as well as on-line at Amazon.com and other websites from September through November 2017.
VTech Electronics Limited North America LLC is recalling some 280,000 infant rattles because the ears of the elephant rattles can break off and pose a choking hazard to young children. This recall involves Vtech Shake and Sing Elephant rattles with model number 80-184800. The rattles, which sing when a button is switched on, have a purple elephant with yellow and blue ears at one end and a black and white plastic teething ring at the other end. VTech is stamped on the elephant. The rattles are about seven inches long and the number 1848 is printed on the back of the rattle adjacent to the battery door. They were sold at Walmart, Kmart, Meijer, Mills Fleet Farm and Seventh Avenue stores and on-line at Amazon.com and zulily.com from November 2015 through November 2017.
Rockler Companies Inc. is recalling about 2,300 bed hardware kits because they do not provide sufficient bracing support, posing serious tip-over and entrapment hazards that can result in death or injuries to children. This recall involves all I-Semble vertical and horizontal Murphy Bed hardware kits. The kits are used to assemble fold down beds and were sold in three sizes: twin, full and queen. The model numbers for the I-Semble vertical-mount Murphy bed hardware kit with mattress platform are 54877 (twin size), 55991 (full size) and 54386 (queen size). Also included in this recall are I-Semble horizontal-mount Murphy bed hardware kit with mattress platform models 50479 (twin size), 53155 (full size) and 58262 (queen size). They include a metal bed frame with wood slats for the mattress platform, a metal leg to support the foot of the mattress platform, mounting brackets to attach the metal bed frame to the wooden enclosure built by consumers, wall brackets to secure the wood enclosure to wall studs, and associated screws and bolts. These products were sold at Rockler stores nationwide, through the Rockler catalogue and on-line at Rockler.com from January through October 2017.
VTech Electronics Limited North America LLC has issued a recall for about 37,000 infants’ lights and lullabies travel mobiles in the United States and approximately 4,800 infants’ lights and lullabies travel mobiles in Canada because the clamp attaching the mobile to the crib rail can break, causing the mobile to fall and posing an injury hazard to an infant in the crib. The recalled mobiles were sold in blue and pink with model numbers 80-503000 (blue) and 80-503050 (pink). The pink mobile was sold exclusively at Amazon.com. The mobiles have a white and pink or white and blue plastic arm that clamps onto the side of a crib as well as three star attachments that hang from the top. They measure five inches wide by 15.8 inches tall and have a music button that plays music, nature sounds and nursery rhymes. These products were sold at Kmart and Walmart stores as well as on-line at Amazon.com and zulily.com from February through November 2017.
