CPSC Recalls Various Products Made in Mainland China

The CPSC has announced the following recalls of products made in mainland China.

Baby Bath Support Seats
Abond Group has recalled about 80 baby bath support seats in the United States as well as approximately 5,109 baby bath support seats in Canada because they fail to meet federal safety standards, including the requirements for stability. This recall involves Tubeez baby bath support seats, which consist of a rigid plastic seat attached to a foam mat for use in the bathtub. The foam mat is either blue (with model code B9150BL) or grey (with model code B9150GY) and features multiple suction cups on the underside. The affected seats have the date codes 1251-0916-enj-nacn or 1434-0617-enj-nacn printed on the underside of the mat. These products were sold at Bealls Outlets nationwide and La Bebe Boutique in Midland, Texas, from October 2017 through March 2018.

Infant Carriers
Gold Inc. (doing business as Goldbug Inc.) is recalling approximately 22,000 infant carriers because the buckles on these products can break, posing a fall hazard to children. This recall involves Gold Inc.’s Eddie Bauer fabric infant carriers, which are worn by the parent or caregiver with the baby strapped into the front. The recalled carriers are black with “Eddie Bauer” and “First Adventure” printed in grey lettering on the front, outside of the carrier. They were sold exclusively at Target stores nationwide and on-line from December 2017 through August 2018.

Beside Pockets
Kikkerland Design Inc. has recalled about 3,600 wireless charger bedside pockets because they can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards. The recalled chargers have a wireless charging pocket in which a mobile phone or other electronic device is placed. The recalled charger pockets have the configuration of an expanding v-shaped file folder with a single pocket and a rigid flap that is pivotally attached on one side. Typically placed between the mattress and the bed frame, the pocket is made of a dark grey felt material and was sold with a power cord. In operation, the cord is plugged into an electronic outlet and the mobile phone is placed into the pocket for recharging. These products were sold at Annie’s Blue Ribbon, Kowalski’s, SF MOMA, Therapy stores and other stores nationwide from March through August 2018.

Wireless Speakers
Brookstone Purchasing Inc. has issued a recall for some 164,000 wireless speakers because the lithium ion batteries in these speakers can overheat and catch fire. This recall involves Brookstone Big Blue Party™ indoor/outdoor wireless speakers. The recalled speakers are silver or grey coloured and measure about six inches wide by six inches deep by 16 inches tall. The SKU is printed on the bottom underside of the speaker and “Brookstone” may also be printed at the bottom on one side of the speaker, as well as on the label on the underside of the speaker. These products were sold at Ace Hardware, Bloomingdale's, Bon-Ton, Brookstone, Macy’s, Patriot stores and other stores nationwide, on the Home Shopping Network and on-line at Amazon.com, Brookstone.com, RueLaLa.com, Wayfair.com, Zulily.com and other websites from December 2013 through August 2018.
