CPSC Recalls Various Products Made in Mainland China

The CPSC has announced a recall of the following products made in mainland China.

Sound Machines. Marpac LLC has recalled approximately 5,000 sound machines because their internal battery can leak and cause an electrical short, posing a burn hazard. This recall involves Marpac Go travel sleep sound machines, which are multi-use sound machines that produce numerous different types of sounds that block out distracting noise. The sound machine is white with a grey flip stand, has an internal rechargeable battery and comes with a USB cable. It measures about three inches high by two inches wide and has a serial number ranging from GT184600000 through GT184605200 on a sticker on the back of the machine. These products were sold on-line at marpac.com, amazon.com, amazon.co.uk, harriscomm.com and bedbathandbeyond.com from January through February 2019.

Tree Stands. DICKS’s Sporting Goods has issued a recall for about 2,600 tree stands because the weld on the seats can break and cause the seat to fall from the tree, posing a fall hazard. This recall involves Field & Stream Timberline hang on tree stands used by hunters. They are brown metal with a black canvas seat and have the letters “HEH01566” followed by “FS080117” or “FS090117” printed on the arm of the tree stand between the seat and the safety platform. “Field & Stream” is printed on the bottom of the canvas seat. These tree stands were sold at DICK’S Sporting Goods and Field & Stream stores nationwide and on-line at DicksSportingGoods.com and FieldandStreamshop.com from September 2017 through January 2019.

Sleepers. Fisher-Price has announced a recall of some 4.7 million Rock ‘n Play sleepers because infant fatalities have occurred after the infants rolled from their back to their stomach or side while unrestrained, or under other circumstances. These sleepers were sold by major retailers during an unspecified period.
