CPSC Recalls Various Products Made in Mainland China

The CPSC has announced a recall of the following products made in mainland China.

Ceiling Fans. Hunter Fan Company has issued a recall for about 7,800 ceiling fans because the light kit wires can be damaged, posing an electric shock hazard to consumers. This recall involves Hunter Brunswick ceiling fan models 52262, 52263, 54178, 54179, 54184 and 54185. The fans have four blades and range from 44 inches to 60 inches in blade span. The recalled ceiling fans have three or four lights and came in the following colours: white motor housing with white blades on one side and grey oak blades on the other side, and black (natural iron) motor housing with grey oak blades on one side and aged oak blades on the other side. They were sold at lighting store showrooms nationwide as well as by on-line retailers from November 2017 through May 2019.


Garage Heaters. H.E. Industrial has announced a recall of approximately 8,500 electric garage heaters because the heating element can overheat and pose a fire hazard. This recall involves Profusion Heat electric garage heaters with model number HA22-48M. The heaters are red and have a grill on the front and a handle on the top. They measure about 13 inches high and 10 inches wide. The label, located on the back of the heater, contains the model number. The thermostat control is located at the bottom of the heater on the back. These products were sold at Menards and Northern Tool stores, as well as on-line at www.menards.com and www.northerntool.com, from August 2014 through March 2019.
