CPSC Recalls Various Products Made in Mainland China

The CPSC has announced the following recalls of products made in mainland China.

Cookers
Sherwood Marketing has recalled about 175,000 rice and slow cookers because improperly installed wiring can cause electrical shorting in the unit, posing fire and electric shock hazards. This recall involves 3 Squares-branded Tim3 Machin3 and Mini Tim3 Machin3 rice and slow cookers with fixed power cords. The 20-cup/4-quart or 8-cup/1.7-quart programmable electric cookers are stainless steel with black moulded plastic, have a control panel/keypad on the front, and measure about 11 inches in diameter and 12 inches tall. The 3Squares logo is printed on the front of the control panel. Model numbers starting with 3RC and ending in 3010S, 3020S, 3434, 5020 and 9010S are included in the recall. These cookers were sold by home, hardware, mass merchandise and department stores nationwide and on-line at Amazon, Bed Bath & Beyond, Best Buy, Costco, Get3Squares, Home Depot, Kohl’s, Target, Wayfair and other websites from December 2015 through July 2016.

Lounge Chairs
Summer Classics Inc. has issued a recall for about 800 lounge chairs because the seat bucket on these chairs can break away from the base while a user is in the chair, posing a fall hazard. This recall involves Summer Classics swivel rocking lounge chairs in the Aire, Belize, Bentley, Charleston and Skye styles in multiple colours and finishes. The chairs are made for outdoor use and are designed to swivel 360 degrees and rock back and forth. All the chair styles, except the Bentley style, come with detachable cushions. An “SC” brass logo is affixed to the back of the chairs, which were sold at Summer Classics stores and other stores nationwide from September 2015 through October 2016.

The 80-litre dehydrator has model number 541549 and the 160-litre dehydrator has model number 541650. The gel clings are for window use only and light up with a blinking light when pushed. The six different gel cling designs include a green skeleton, pink skeleton, purple spider, black cat, orange pumpkin and black bat. Model number 234-25-0904 is printed on the gel cling’s packaging. Fiddle Diddles Inc. is recalling about 250 car seat strap systems because the carabiners attached to the strap system contain small internal parts that can become dislodged, posing a choking hazard to young children. This recall involves Fiddle Diddles LullaBelay adjustable car seat strap systems with model number LB1001. The strap system includes two fabric straps, carabiner hardware, a mesh car seat cover and a tote bag. The carabiners are used to hang a car seat from a shopping cart. The model number is printed on the grey straps and “Fiddle Diddles” is printed on a fabric label attached to the mesh car seat cover, tote bag and fabric straps. These products were sold on-line at Fiddlediddles.com from May through June 2016 as well as at Amazon.com and Zoolikins stores in Arizona from November 2015 through June 2016.
