CPSC Recalls Various Products Made in Mainland China
The CPSC has announced the following recalls of products made in mainland China.
Feld Entertainment Inc. has recalled about 30,100 toy wands because the top component can detach and expose an eight inch metal rod, posing an injury hazard to young children. This recall involves 18-inch tall light-spinner wands with either Mickey Mouse or Minnie Mouse at the top and lot numbers 954544 or 954603 imprinted on the bottom. The Mickey Mouse wands are yellow, red and black, while the Minnie Mouse wands are pink, white and blue. These wands were sold exclusively at Disney On Ice and Disney Live shows from October through November 2016.
Restoration Hardware is recalling about 2,700 metal top dining tables because the metal top can contain lead and presents a risk of lead exposure to children. This recall involves Railroad Tie & Parsons Railroad Tie dining tables. The recalled tables are round or rectangular with thin sheets of zinc/dark grey colour metal on the table tops. Recalled item numbers, which are printed on a white sticker underneath the table top, include 62430028ZINC, 62430018ZINC, 62430027ZINC, 62430016ZINC, 62430026ZINC, 62430029ZINC, 62430017ZINC, 62430030ZINC, 62430025ZINC, 62430024ZINC, 62430022ZINC, 62430032ZINC, 62430023ZINC and 62430031ZINC. These tables were sold at Restoration Hardware Outlet stores nationwide and on-line at Restorationhardware.com from March 2012 through December 2016.
Target Corp. has recalled about 1,300 patio benches because they can collapse while in use, posing a fall hazard to consumers. This recall involves Threshold Aluminum Top/Steel X Base patio benches that were sold individually or as part of a six-piece dining set. The model number (009-00-3894, 009-00-2005, 009-00-2006, 009-00-2007, 009-00-2008, 009-00-4568 or 009-00-4573) can be found on the front page of the product’s assembly instructions or on the product’s packaging. These benches were sold at Target stores nationwide and on-line at Target.com from January through July 2016.
Britax has announced a recall of some 676,000 strollers in the United States, about 36,400 strollers in Canada and approximately 4,600 strollers in Mexico because a damaged receiver mount can cause the car seat to disengage and fall unexpectedly, posing a fall hazard to infants in the car seat. This recall involves Britax B-Agile and BOB Motion strollers when used as a travel system with a car seat carrier attached. All models are folding, single or double occupant strollers and have Click & Go receiver mounts that attach the car seat carrier to the stroller frame. All colours of the stroller are included in the recall. The model number can be found on the inside of the stroller’s metal frame near the right rear wheel for single strollers and in the front middle underside of the frame on double strollers. These strollers were sold at Babies R Us, buy buy Baby, Target and other stores nationwide and on-line at Amazon.com, albeebaby.com, buybuybaby.com, diapers.com, ToysRUs.com and other websites from May 2011 through February 2017.
Calphalon Corp. is recalling some two million cutlery knives in the United States and about 4,000 cutlery knives in Canada because the blade on these knives can break during use, posing a laceration hazard. This recall involves Calphalon Contemporary cutlery carving, chef, paring, santoku and utility knives sold individually and in sets made between August 2008 and March 2016. Item numbers included in the recall are KNR10045C, KNR0007C, 1821332, KNR0005C, KNR4008C, KNSR002C, KNSR0102C, 1808009, 1808008, 1922890, 1922971, 1932810 and 1922976. These knives were sold at J.C. Penney, Kohl’s, Macy’s and other stores nationwide and on-line at www.Amazon.com from September 2008 through December 2016.
Moose Toys Proprietary Ltd. has recalled about 427,000 toy frogs in the United States as well as 17,800 toy frogs in Canada because when the button batteries are removed from these toys the battery’s cap can become a projectile and the battery’s chemicals can leak, posing chemical and injury hazards. This recall involves the Little Live Pets Lil Frog plastic toys, which operate with four button batteries and jump. Little Live Pets Lil Frog has SKU 28217 and Lil Frog Lily Pad has SKU 28218 printed on the frog’s lower belly near its left thigh with a manufacture date code under it. The date code ranges from WS112016 to WS123216. These toy frogs were sold in pink, blue and green colours at AAFES, Target, Toys “R” Us and Walmart stores nationwide and on-line at Amazon.com from August 2016 through February 2017.
