CPSC Recalls Various Products Made in Mainland China
The CPSC has announced the following recalls of products made in mainland China.
Teavana has recalled about 23,600 tumblers in the United States and about 1,600 tumblers in Canada because they can leak hot liquids and pose a burn hazard. This recall involves 14-ounce Teavana flip tumblers used for steeping hot tea. The recalled products have a clear plastic cap with a welded black base that screws onto a stainless steel tumbler. They were sold in black and silver, measure about ten inches tall by three inches in diameter, and have “Teavana®” printed on the side. These products were sold exclusively at Teavana stores nationwide and on-line at Teavana.com from October 2016 through February 2017.
Anaheim Manufacturing Co. and Moen Inc. are recalling approximately 146,000 garbage disposals in the United States and about 2,700 garbage disposals in Canada because a metal component inside these products can break off and come out during use, posing an impact hazard. This recall involves 3/4 and 1 horsepower disposals sold in silver, grey, black and blue. Recalled brand names and models include Barracuda (model 681-4001), Frankle (models FWD75BR, FWD75R and FWD100R), Frigidaire (model FGDI753DMS, FPDI103DMS and FPDI758DMS), Gemline (model GLCD300SS), Kenmore (models 587-70351E, 587-70361E and 587-70413E), Kitcheneater (models KE1CORD and KE34CORD), Luxart (models LXFIN1C and LXFIN34C), Moen (models GX75C, GX100C and GXL1000C), Stream33 (model S33WC1WC) and Waste King (models 9980, 9980TC, L-8000, L-8000TC, 9950, 9900TC, L-3300, L-5000TC, A1SPC, PM3SL-3BMT, PM4SL-3BMT, FDL-3300 and FDL-8000). These garbage disposals were sold at Best Buy, HD Supply, Menards and plumbing supply stores nationwide as well as on-line at Amazon.com, Costco.com, HomeDepot.com, Walmart.com and other websites from December 2015 through March 2017.
Water Absorbing Toys
Target Corp. has recalled some 560,000 water absorbing toys because if a toy is ingested it can expand inside a child’s body and cause intestinal obstructions. This recall involves Hatch & Grow Easter eggs, Easter Grow toys and Hatch Your Own Dino toys. Hatch & Grow Easter eggs and Easter Grow toys have model number 234-25-1200 on the back of the product’s packaging, while Hatch Your Own Dino toys have model number 234-09-0016 on the label inserted in the product’s packaging. The pink, blue or purple Hatch & Grow Easter eggs include a white bunny, a brown bunny or a butterfly. The Easter Grow toys include a yellow chick, a brown bunny or a white bunny, while the Hatch Your Own Dino toys are purple or yellow/green and contain one of eleven dinosaurs. These toys were sold at Target stores nationwide from February through March 2017.
Greenfield World Trade Inc. has announced a recall of about 14,000 food dehydrators because they can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards. This recall involves white, EZDRY, six-tray food dehydrators. The dehydrator weighs about four pounds and measures 12 inches tall by about eight inches deep by 10 inches wide. EZDRY is printed on the front of the dehydrator and EZDRY and the model number EPD60W are printed on a white label on the bottom of the unit. They were sold in a white box labelled “EZDRY by Excalibur” Home Dehydrator with a picture of the product at Kohl’s stores nationwide and on-line at Amazon.com from June 2016 through February 2017.
Razor USA LLC has announced a recall of about 158,000 motorised caster boards because the rear wheel can stop rotating and lock up while in use, posing a fall hazard. This recall involves Razor RipStik electric motorised caster boards with two wheels, a hub motor and a lithium ion battery. These products were sold in blue and black and have a wireless digital hand remote that controls the speed up to ten miles per hour. The manufacturing date is on the bar code label located on the bottom of the product, Razor USA LLC is embossed on the bottom and “RipStik” is printed on the top. These boards were sold at Target, Toys R Us, Walmart and other stores nationwide as well as on-line at Amazon.com, Razor.com, Target.com, toysrus.com, Walmart.com and other websites from February 2016 through April 2017.
