CPSC Recalls Various Products Made in Mainland China
The CPSC has announced the following recalls of products made in mainland China.
Yangtze Store has recalled about 640 women’s scarves because they fail to meet the federal flammability standard for clothing textiles. This recall involves 100 percent silk women’s scarves measuring about 67 inches long by 22 inches wide. The scarves were sold as “Long Georgette Silk Scarf Butterfly Print” in the following 11 colours: black, fuchsia, green, light blue, navy, red, taupe, turquoise, pink, purple and white. They were sold exclusively on-line at Amazon.com from January 2017 through April 2018.
Werner Co. is recalling approximately 78,000 aluminium ladders because they can break while in use, posing a fall hazard to the user. This recall involves five models of aluminium telescoping ladders that can be used in five different positions: twin step ladder, stairway step ladder, extension ladder, wall ladder and as two scaffold bases. A date code of 121744XX or 011844XX is stamped on the inside of the outer leg of the ladder, beneath the bottom step, while the model number (MT-IAA-13A, MT-IAA-17A, MT-IAA-22A, MT-IAA-26 or MT-IAA-26A) is printed on a label located on the side of the ladder rail. The recalled ladders have a load capacity of 375 pounds and were sold at Home Depot and Lowe’s stores nationwide from April through May 2018.
Light and Power Stations
Baccus Global LLC has issued a recall for about 20,000 workbench LED light and power stations because they are wired incorrectly, which can result in reverse polarity and pose shock and electrocution hazards. This recall involves Stanley LED workbench light and power stations with model number WLB40PS. The recalled units were sold in a black/yellow colour and measure about 19.75 inches long by 3.75 inches wide by five inches tall. They have a 40-chip LED shop light with adjustable angles, four power outlets and an on/off switch mounted on the unit. “Stanley” is printed in yellow by the outlets. These products were sold at Sam’s Club stores nationwide and on-line at Amazon.com from March through August 2017.
