CPSC Recalls Various Products Made in Mainland China
The CPSC has announced the following recalls of products made in mainland China.
Canyon USA has recalled about 820 mountain bicycles because the chainstays can crack, which can lead to failure of the chainstay, rear wheel detachment and loss of control. This recall involves model year 2018 Canyon Spectral full-suspension women’s and men’s mountain bikes with aluminium chainstays. The bike’s chainstays are the aluminium tubes that run from the bottom bracket to the axle of the rear wheel. These bikes were sold in black/red, black/blue, grey/orange, red and black and have the following model numbers: M71 Spectral CF 9.0 PRO, M71 Spectral CF 8.0, M53 Spectral AL 6.0, M74 Spectral WMN CF 7.0 and M50 Spectral WMN 6.0. Canyon is printed on the downtube and Spectral is printed on the top tube. These bikes were sold exclusively on-line at Canyon’s website (www.canyon.com) from December 2017 through June 2018.
Spiraledge Inc. is recalling approximately 12,400 chairs in the United States as well as about 120 chairs in Canada because they can break at the seat or back welded support rod connecting the back legs of the chair. This recall involves Everyday Yoga Backless Yoga Chairs as well as Everyday Yoga Tall Backless Yoga Chairs. Both are metal folding chairs primarily used for restorative yoga, with a welded support rod on the rear legs (none in the front) and no back support. The Tall Backless Yoga Chair, item number 8162640, is about 44 inches high and 19 inches wide. The Backless Yoga Chair, item number 8132666, is about 37 inches high and 18 inches wide. The chairs were sold under the brand name Sporti Studio in the following colours: aqua, black, white, plum and peacock. They were sold on-line at www.YogaOutlet.com and www.SwimOutlet.com from August 2015 through July 2018.
Cooper Lighting LLC has recalled some 350,000 light fixtures in the United States as well as about 11,963 light fixtures in Canada because the batteries in these products can overheat and cause the light fixture’s housing to melt, posing a fire hazard. This recall involves solar-powered, motion-activated outdoor LED light fixtures sold under the All-Pro and Defiant brands. The model number is displayed on the interior of the fixture. The Defiant MST1000LWDF, All-Pro MST800L and All-Pro MST800LW all have two light sources on top of a housing with a round motion sensor on the bottom of that housing. The All-Pro WPS2040M has a flat housing with the LED light source in the centre of the housing and an integrated motion sensor lens and dimmer above the motion sensor. All the light fixtures are connected by wire to a solar panel. These products were sold at Home Depot, Lowe’s and other stores nationwide from September 2015 through July 2018.
