CPSC Recalls Various Products Made in Mainland China
The CPSC has announced a recall of the following products made in mainland China.
The Children’s Place Services Company LLC has recalled about 14,900 infant snowsuits in the United States as well as about 750 infant snowsuits in Canada because the metal snaps on these snowsuits can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children. This recall involves girls’ infant snowsuits sold in infant sizes 0 to 18 months. The recalled snowsuits were sold in two styles and three colours/patterns. They are 100 percent polyester and the trim is 95 percent polyester and five percent spandex. The snowsuits have matching print hoods with small ears, detachable mittens, and a zipper down the front of the suit covered with a fabric snap flap at the chest. They were sold exclusively at The Children’s Place stores nationwide and on-line at www.childrensplace.com from August through November 2018.
The Manhattan Toy Company LLC is recalling approximately 1,180 children’s books in the United States as well as about 20 children’s books in Canada because a metal grommet used to attach a fabric flap to a page in the book can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children. This recall involves “Find the Bear” soft fabric books with a variety of fabric flaps sewn or attached to the pages. The front cover has blue and purple horizontal stripes and a panda bear’s face sewn on. The Manhattan Toy logo is printed on a sewn-in label on the side of the book and lot code “208150 AJ” is printed on another sewn-in label. These books were sold by independent specialty retailers nationwide and on-line at Amazon.com, Buybuybaby.com, Manhattantoy.com and other websites from March 2017 through July 2018.
