CPSC Recalls Various Products Made in Mainland China

The CPSC has announced a recall of the following products made in mainland China.

Infant Support Accessories. The Boppy Company LLC has issued a recall for about 14,000 infant head and neck support accessories because the head support area can be overstuffed and cause the infant’s head to be tilted too far forward, posing a suffocation hazard. This recall involves accessories used in infant swings, bouncers and strollers sold in two styles: Ebony Floral and Heathered Gray with model numbers 4150114 and 4150117. The model number is printed on the fabric label on the back of the head support. These products were sold at Target, Buy Buy Baby and other juvenile products and discount furniture stores nationwide, as well as on-line at Amazon.com, from March through May 2019.

Axles for Strollers. Britax Child Safety Inc. has announced a recall of approximately 200 thru-bolt axles for use with BOB jogging strollers because the modified thru-bolt on the front wheel can fracture, allowing the wheel to detach from the stroller and posing fall and injury hazards to children in the stroller and adults operating the stroller. This recall involves the modified thru-bolt axle provided by Britax free of charge as one of the available incentives to eligible consumers in connection with the BOB information campaign announced on 10 January 2019. The model number of the modified thru-bolt axle is S11393700 and the product was manufactured for use with BOB Jogging Strollers made between 1 January 2009 and 30 September 2015.

Phone Chargers. Pi Inc. (doing business as Spansive) has announced a recall of approximately 950 phone chargers because metallic accessories attached to phones placed on the chargers can overheat while the phones charge, posing a burn hazard to users. This recall involves Spansive Source wireless multi-phone chargers capable of powering up to six phones simultaneously, four wirelessly and two more via USB ports located at the base of the charger. The recalled chargers were sold in both white and charcoal colours, each with a green label at the bottom. “Spansive” is printed on the chargers. These products were sold exclusively on-line at www.spansive.com on 23-24 May 2019. Recalled chargers are identifiable by a green label on the bottom of the charger.
