Changes Made to Various Section 301 Product Exclusions

The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative has amended a number of product exclusions that had been granted to List 1 and List 2 goods. The amendments are retroactive to the date the original exclusions were published in the Federal Register and do not extend the period for those exclusions. USTR notes that U.S. Customs and Border Protection will issue instructions on entry guidance and implementation.

USTR adds that the amendments, which mostly involve changes to the language describing the product subject to the exclusion, are intended to correct ministerial errors as well as to conform to USTR’s intent to grant certain requested exclusions. The notice affecting List 1 product exclusions is available here while the notice affecting List 2 product exclusions is available here.
