Colombia Adopts New Requirements for Pressure Cookers, Rescinds Standards for Fridges

Colombia has issued new mandatory technical requirements for domestically-produced and imported pressure cookers for household use classified under HTSCO 7323.93.1000 and 7615.10.1000. Among other things, pressure cookers must carry three labels (on the body, lid and packaging), certain permanent markings (on the body and handle or knobs), and an operations manual inside the packaging. Separately, Colombia has rescinded the technical requirements for household refrigerators, freezers and refrigerator-freezers set forth in Resolution 859/2006.
