Colombia Makes Slight Revisions to Labelling Requirements for Clothing

Colombia has made several slight revisions to its labelling requirements for domestically-produced and imported clothing that are not expected to impact Hong Kong or mainland Chinese clothing exporters. The amendments will enter into force on 27 October.

Specifically, the definitions for permanent labelling and non-permanent labelling have been modified somewhat and the list of examples of products that can disclose the required information adhered to their packaging because the direct use of a label would negatively impact their use or aesthetics, or cause a loss in value, due to their nature or size has been expanded. The new list includes such products as stockings for varicose veins, panty hose, stockings, leotards, socks, gloves, mitts and mittens, brassieres, girdles, panty-girdles, handkerchiefs, shawls, mufflers, scarves, mantillas, veils and neckties.
