Mexico Issues New Standards for Certain Mobile Terminal Equipment

Mexico has adopted new mandatory standards for mobile terminal equipment that operates in the 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 850 MHz, 1,900 MHz, 1,700 MHz/2,100 MHz and/or 2,500 MHz bandwidths and can use the radio spectrum or can be connected to telecommunications networks. Per NOM-221/2-SCFI-2018, subject merchandise must comply with the provisions of Technical Disposition IFT-011-2017 – Part 2 and undergo appropriate testing to ensure compliance with that standard. These requirements will apply from 10 February.
