Mexico Updates List of Products Requiring Energy Consumption Information
Mexico has issued an updated list of products for which producers, importers, distributors and sellers must provide energy consumption information, including consumption per time unit in operation, type of energy used (except in instances where such information can be easily identified due to the nature of the product), and, whenever applicable, the quantity, product or service provided by the equipment or apparatus per unit 0f energy consumed. Such information must be printed, stamped or adhered to the product or its packaging. Excluded from this requirement are equipment and apparatus subject to a mandatory energy efficiency standard that have the applicable certificate.
The following products are included in the updated list: amplifiers, mixers, industrial water pumps, commercial and household coffee makers, boilers, electric water heaters, industrial washing centres, household and industrial compressors, desktop computers, copiers weighing more than 15 kilogrammes, printers weighing more than 15 kg, multi-functional machines weighing more than 15 kg, electric water dispensers, industrial and commercial icemakers, industrial and commercial electric fryers, electric ovens for household use, toasting ovens, electric ovens for industrial use, industrial ovens using liquefied petroleum or natural gas, intercoms, residential decorative lamps, industrial washers, dishwashers, blenders, luminaires, electric sewing machines, cold beverage vending machines, hot beverage vending machines, video game machines for gambling and entrainment, hair clippers, computer monitors, electric grills, electric irons for household use, commercial irons, hair dryers, clothes washers, surveillance systems, bread toasters, hair tongs, lathes, motor vehicles, fans, video projectors and video doorman devices.
