Canada Considers Sunset Review of AD/CV Duty Orders on Copper Tube
The Canadian International Trade Tribunal is seeking comments from interested parties by 26 October on whether it should initiate an expiry review of the AD and CV duty orders on mainland Chinese circular copper tube with an outer diameter of 0.2 inch to 4.25 inches (0.502 centimetre to 10.795 centimetres), excluding industrial and coated or insulated copper tube, classified under HTSCA 7411.10.0010, 7411.10.0020, 7411.10.0031 and 7411.10.0039. The CITT will only initiate a review if it determines that there is sufficient information for such a review to be performed. If a review is not initiated, the orders will be allowed to expire as scheduled on 17 December.

Submissions may address such issues as the likelihood of continued or resumed dumping and subsidising of the goods, the likely volume and price ranges of dumped and subsidised imports if dumping and subsidising were to continue or resume, the domestic industry’s recent performance, including trends in production, sales, market share, domestic prices, costs and profits, and the likelihood of injury to the domestic industry if the orders were allowed to expire. The CITT will issue a decision on 20 November on whether an expiry review is warranted.
