Brazil Launches Scope Review of AD Duty Order on Garlic
Brazilian authorities have initiated a proceeding to determine whether all groups, subgroups, classes and types of garlic, regardless of their tariff classification, are covered by the AD duty order on fresh or refrigerated garlic classified under NCM 0703.20.10 and 0703.20.90 from mainland China.
Brazil Announces Schedule, Extends Deadline for Final AD Determination on Certain Steel Products
Brazilian authorities recently extended for a period of up to eight months, from 20 May 2017 to 20 January 2018, the deadline to issue a final determination in their AD investigation of mainland Chinese hot-rolled flat-rolled products of alloy or non-alloy steel, of a width of 600 mm or greater, in plates of a thickness of less than 4.75 mm or in coils of any thickness, classified under NCM 7208.10.00, 7208.25.00, 7208.26.10, 7208.26.90, 7208.27.10, 7208.27.90, 7208.36.10, 7208.36.90, 7208.37.00, 7208.38.10, 7208.38.90, 7208.39.10, 7208.39.90, 7208.40.00, 7208.53.00, 7208.54.00, 7208.90.00, 7225.30.00 and 7225.40.90.
Brazilian authorities have also announced the schedule for the final phase of this proceeding, as follows: closure of evidential phase of investigation (28 April), deadline for data and information contained in the file (18 May), issuance of technical note with essential facts under analysis to be considered in the final determination (19 June), deadline for presentation of final submissions by interested parties and end of instruction phase (10 July), and issuance by DECOM of final determination (31 July).
Chile Corrects Provisional AD Duties on Steel Wire Rod
As previously reported, Chile recently extended for a period of up to two months from 22 February its provisional measures in the on-going AD probe of Trefilar, Drawing, Normal and Mesh Quality steel wire rod of circular cross section measuring less than 16 millimetres in diameter classified under classified under HTSCL 7213.2000, 7213.9110, 7213.9120, 7213.9190, 7213.9900, 7227.1000, 7227.2000 and 7227.9000 from mainland China. The provisional dumping margins that were initially published by the Chilean government contained certain inadvertent errors, and the following revised margins have since been announced.
- Benxi Beitai Gaosu Steel Wire Rod Co. Ltd. – 28.8 percent (compared to a previously reported 28.3 percent)
- Zhangjiakou Xuanlong High Speed Wire Co. – 18.1 percent (compared to a previously reported 18.6 percent)
- Jiangsu Shagang Group Co. Ltd. – 30.8 percent (compared to a previously reported 32.0 percent)
- All other – 40.6 percent (unchanged)
Excluded from the scope of this proceeding are CHQ quality wire rod and hot-rolled alloy steel wire rod in coils with indentations, ribs, grooves or other deformations of subheading 7227.90.
Colombia Begins AD Sunset Reviews on Steel Sheet and Sodium Citrate
Colombia has initiated separate sunset reviews of the AD duty orders on certain flat-rolled galvanised steel sheet classified under HTSCO 7210.49.0000 and sodium citrate classified under HTSCO 2918.15.3000 from mainland China. These reviews could result in either the revocation or continuation of these orders.
