Mexico Begins AD Investigation on Polyester Staple Fibre
Mexico’s Ministry of Economy has initiated an AD duty investigation of short-fibre polyester staple fibre classified under HTSMX 5503.20.01 and 5503.20.99 from mainland China. The scope of the proceeding covers polyester staple fibre measuring more than 1 denier but no more than 3.2 denier, with a tenacity lower than 6.9 grams per denier, excluding dyed fibres as well as low-melt and siliconised fibres. Certain importers, exporters and the mainland Chinese government will have 23 working days counted five days from the date the applicable notice of investigation is sent to them to submit the official form for this investigation and any arguments thereof. All other interested parties may submit the official form for this investigation no later than 23 working days from 11 February.
Brazil Amends Terms of Price Agreement for Imported Ceramic Tableware
Brazil recently amended the terms of the price agreement for imports of ceramic tableware classified under NCM 6911.10.10, 6911.10.90, 6911.90.00 and 6912.00.00 that are made in mainland China by companies belonging to the China Ceramics Industrial Association and are exported to Brazil either directly or through a trading company. Specifically, the minimum CIF price under this price agreement has been set at US$4.13 per kilogramme for calendar year 2018, subject to a limit of 30,387,656 kilogrammes. The new CIF price will be effective on 20 February, with goods shipped prior to that date subject to the previous US$4.01/kg CIF price.
Argentina Announces Scheduled Expiration of AD Duty Orders on Vacuum Flasks and Microwave Ovens
Argentina recently announced that the AD duty orders on mainland Chinese vacuum flasks and other vacuum vessels with stainless steel inners of a capacity not exceeding 2.5 litres and microwave ovens are scheduled to expire on 30 May and 9 September, respectively. Parties wishing to request a sunset review of these orders must do so at least three months prior to the scheduled expiration date.
Argentina Issues Results of Anti-Circumvention Reviews of Sunglasses
Argentina has determined that imports of certain sunglasses classified under NCM 9004.10.00 that are exported to Argentina by Taiwan’s Hibiscus Industrial Co. Ltd. are not circumventing the AD duty order on subject merchandise from mainland China.
