Miscellaneous Latin American AD Actions on Mainland Chinese Products

Argentina Begins AD Probe of Shock Absorbers for Motorcycles
Argentina recently initiated an AD duty investigation of single body shock absorbers, including shock absorber spring assemblies, of the kind used in motorcycles and cycles fitted with an auxiliary motor, with or without side-cars, classified under NCM 8714.10.00 and 8714.99.90, from mainland China. Argentinean Customs will begin requiring certificates of origin for subject merchandise from 20 July.

Argentina Issues AD Duty Orders on Dishwashers, Certain Cutlery
Argentina has issued separate AD duty orders on mainland Chinese (1) household dishwashers classified under NCM 8422.11.00, and (2) stainless steel cutlery with a plastic or wooden handle classified under NCM 8211.10.00, 8211.91.00, 8215.20.00 and 8215.99.10. As a result, subject merchandise will face AD duties of 54 percent (dishwashers) and 48 percent (cutlery) for a period of five years.

Argentina Terminates AD Probe of Emergency Lighting Devices
Argentina has terminated without the imposition of any measures its AD probe of mainland Chinese emergency lighting devices classified under NCM 9405.10.99. Argentinean authorities determined that there was no causal link between imports of subject merchandise and injury to a domestic industry.

Brazil Declines to Initiate AD Probe of Steel Tube
Brazil has declined to initiate an AD investigation of certain carbon steel tube classified under NCM 7305.11.00, 7305.12.00 and 7306.19.00 from mainland China. Among other things, Brazilian authorities did not find a causal link between imports of subject merchandise and injury to a domestic industry.
