Brazil Issues CV Duty Order but Temporarily Suspends CV Measures on Steel Flat-Rolled Products
Brazil has issued a final affirmative determination in its CV investigation of certain mainland Chinese hot-rolled flat-rolled products of alloy or non-alloy steel, of a width of 600 mm or greater, in plates of a thickness of less than 4.75 mm or in coils of any thickness, classified under NCM 7208.10.00, 7208.25.00, 7208.26.10, 7208.26.90, 7208.27.10, 7208.27.90, 7208.36.10, 7208.36.90, 7208.37.00, 7208.38.10, 7208.38.90, 7208.39.10, 7208.39.90, 7208.40.00, 7208.53.00, 7208.54.00, 7208.90.00, 7225.30.00 and 7225.40.90. However, the application of the CV duties shown below has been suspended for a period of one year (the suspension may be renewed for an additional year) due to public interest reasons.
Earlier this year, Brazilian authorities suspended also for one year the application of a parallel AD duty order on imports of subject merchandise from the mainland.

Mexico Issues AD Duty Order on Balloons
Mexico has issued an AD duty order on mainland Chinese metallised plastic balloons classified under HTSMX 9503.00.23 and 9505.90.99. Accordingly, imports of subject merchandise will face an AD duty of US$37.8 per kilogramme for a period of five years.
Argentina Issues AD Duty Order on Food Processors
Argentina has issued an AD duty order on mainland Chinese manual multi-function food processors incorporating interchangeable accessories, hand mixers whether or not incorporating any accessories and blenders classified under NCM 8509.40.50, 8509.40.20 and 8509.40.10. As a result, for a period of five years imports of subject merchandise with an FOB price of US$17.28 per unit or lower will face a 115.75 percent AD duty, while imports of subject merchandise with an FOB above US$17.28 per unit will face an AD duty of US$20 per unit.
Argentina Terminates AD Duty Probe of Metal Guards for Fans
Argentina has terminated without the imposition of any measures its AD duty probe of mainland Chinese metal guards of the kind used in fans with a self-enclosed electric motor, with a diameter greater than 400 mm, classified under NCM 8414.90.20.
Brazil Announces Scheduled Expiration of Various AD Duty Orders
Brazil recently announced that the AD duty orders on the following products from mainland China are scheduled to expire in the first few months of 2019. Parties wishing to request a sunset review of any of these orders must submit such a request to Brazilian authorities at least four months prior to the scheduled expiration date. If a proper request is submitted by the required deadline, Brazil will launch a sunset review of the order in question, which may result in the renewal (in its current or an amended form) or termination of the order.
- tyres of a kind used on motor cars classified under NCM 4011.10.00 – 16 January 2019 expiration date
- certain ceramic tableware classified under NCM 6911.10.10, 6911.10.90, 6911.90.00 and 6912.00.00 – 17 January 2019 expiration date

- precipitated silicon dioxide classified under NCM 2811.22.10 – 24 April 2019 expiration date
