New Standards for Electric Metres under Consideration in Mexico

Mexico is seeking input from interested parties by 16 March on a proposal (PROY-NOM-001-CRE/SCFI-2017) to establish new mandatory metrological requirements, test methods and conformity assessment procedures for electric metres, including instrument transformers. The proposal would set new definitions; general, specific and metrological requirements; requirements regarding the selection of electric metres; test methods; and conformity assessment procedures. The new standards would enter into force 60 days from the date of issuance of a final regulation in Mexico’s official journal.
