Pacific Alliance Additional Protocol Will Enter Into Force 1 May
Chile’s Director General of International Economic Relations Andrés Rebolledo recently confirmed that the additional protocol to the Pacific Alliance agreement will enter into force on 1 May. The additional protocol will eliminate with immediate effect duties on 92 percent of originating goods traded between Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru, while duties on the remaining eight percent of goods will be gradually phased out. Trade vice-ministers met in Bogota in early March to make additional progress on other key elements of the Pacific Alliance, including trade facilitation, entrepreneurship, and relations with other trade partners.
