Peru Prioritises Measures to Promote Foreign Trade Competitiveness

Peru’s Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism is identifying and prioritising a number of measures to promote the productivity and competitiveness of the country by strengthening international trade. The goal of this initiative is to help Peruvian exports achieve a sustainable rate of growth and prop up the internationalisation of Peruvian companies. The four pillars of this initiative include (1) the internationalisation of Peruvian companies and market diversification, (2) achieving a diversified, competitive and sustainable export offer, (3) facilitating foreign trade and promoting the efficiency of the international logistics chain (including by optimising access to logistics services to strengthen security, ports, airports and the overall logistics chain), and (4) generating capacities for the internationalisation and consolidation of an export culture (including through the insertion of companies into global and regional value chains and the promotion of various internationalisation modalities).
