Steel Trade Monitoring Tool to Aid Enforcement and Policy Efforts

The DOC has released a new interactive Global Steel Trade Monitor that will provide extensive and timely steel trade data for the top 20 importing and exporting countries. U.S. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross said this tool will improve the ability of companies and the federal government to track steel trade flows, which is “essential both for enforcement and for policy determinations.”

According to a DOC press release, this tool gives users the flexibility to select on-line customised import and export flows in graphic form and detailed charts for five aggregate steel mill product groups: flat, long, pipe and tube, semi-finished and stainless products. It can also produce more than 20,000 charts that will be updated more frequently than the current comprehensive country reports.
