Technical Changes to Formaldehyde Emission Standards for Composite Wood Products Under Consideration
The Environmental Protection Agency is proposing to amend a 12 December 2016 final rule setting forth formaldehyde emission standards for composite wood products to address certain technical issues and to further align the final rule requirements with the California Air Resources Board Airborne Toxic Control Measures Phase II programme. According to the EPA, addressing these technical issues would add clarity for regulated entities, streamline compliance programmes, and help ensure a continued smooth transition for supply chains to comply with the requirements associated with regulated composite wood products. Interested parties may submit comments on this proposal by 3 December.
