USITC Notices

Preliminary Affirmative AD/CV Injury Determinations on Biaxial Integral Geogrid Products. The USITC has issued preliminary affirmative injury determinations in its AD and CV investigations of certain mainland Chinese biaxial integral geogrid products. As a result, the DOC will continue its AD and CV duty investigations of imports of subject merchandise. The DOC is scheduled to issue its preliminary CV determination on 7 April and its preliminary AD determination on 21 June.

Preliminary Affirmative AD/CV Injury Determinations on Amorphous Silica Fabric. The USITC has issued preliminary affirmative injury determinations in its AD and CV investigations of certain mainland Chinese amorphous silica fabric. As a result, the DOC will continue its AD and CV duty investigations of imports of subject merchandise. The DOC is scheduled to issue its preliminary CV determination on 14 April and its preliminary AD determination on 28 June.

Scheduling of Final Phase of AD Injury Investigation of HFC Blends. The USITC has scheduled the final phase of its AD injury investigation of hydrofluorocarbon blends and components thereof from mainland China. The pre-hearing staff report will be placed in the non-public record on 7 June and a public version will be issued thereafter; requests to appear at the hearing must be submitted by 10 June; pre-hearing briefs are due by 14 June; the pre-hearing conference will take place on 14 June; the hearing will be held on 21 June; and post-hearing briefs are due by 28 June.

Initiation of Sunset Reviews of AD Duty Orders on Shrimp and Pipe Fittings. The USITC has initiated separate sunset reviews of the AD duty orders on frozen warm water shrimp and carbon steel butt-weld pipe fittings from mainland China. The reviews will seek to determine whether revocation of these orders would be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury to a domestic industry within a reasonably foreseeable time. Interested parties must respond to the applicable notice of initiation by 31 March to be assured of consideration. Comments on the adequacy of these responses must be filed by 13 May. The USITC will then assess the adequacy of interested party responses to determine whether to conduct a full or expedited sunset review. As opposed to expedited reviews, full reviews include a public hearing and the issuance of questionnaires.

Scheduling of Full Sunset Review of AD/CV Duty Orders on Narrow Woven Ribbons. The USITC has scheduled a full sunset review of the AD and CV duty orders on narrow woven ribbons with woven selvedge from mainland China. The pre-hearing staff report will be placed in the non-public record on 16 June and a public version will be issued thereafter; pre-hearing briefs are due by 28 June; requests to appear at the hearing are due by 5 July; the pre-hearing conference will be held on 6 July; the hearing will be held on 12 July; and post-hearing briefs are due by 21 July.

Full Sunset Review of AD Duty Order on Wooden Bedroom Furniture. The USITC has decided to conduct  a full sunset review of the AD duty order on wooden bedroom furniture from mainland China. The review will seek to determine whether revocation of this order would be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury to a domestic industry within a reasonably foreseeable time.

New Section 337 Investigation on Diaper Disposal Systems. The USITC has launched a Section 337 patent infringement investigation of certain mainland Chinese diaper disposal systems and components thereof, including diaper refill cassettes. The products at issue in this investigation are generally refill cassettes for diaper disposal systems that contain plastic film that ultimately forms disposal bags for soiled diapers so that they may be disposed of in a hygienic way.
