Preliminary Affirmative AD Injury Determination on Polytetrafluoroethylene Resin
The USITC has issued a preliminary affirmative injury determination in its AD investigation of polytetrafluoroethylene resin from mainland China. As a result, the DOC will continue its AD duty investigation of imports of subject merchandise. The DOC is scheduled to issue its preliminary determination on or about 7 March 2018.

Preliminary Affirmative AD/CV Injury Determinations on Steel Fittings
The USITC has issued preliminary affirmative injury determinations in its AD and CV investigations of forged steel fittings from mainland China. As a result, the DOC will continue its AD and CV duty investigations of imports of subject merchandise. The DOC is scheduled to issue its preliminary CV determination on or about 29 December and its preliminary AD determination on or about 14 March 2018.

Scheduling of Final Phase of AD Injury Investigation of Carton-Closing Staples
The USITC has scheduled the final phase of its AD injury investigation of carton-closing staples from mainland China. The pre-hearing staff report will be placed in the non-public record on 27 February 2018 and a public version will be issued thereafter; pre-hearing briefs are due by 6 March 2018; requests to appear at the hearing are due by 7 March 2018; the pre-hearing conference will be held on 12 March 2018; the hearing will be held on 13 March 2018; and post-hearing briefs are due by 20 March 2018.

Amended Schedule of Expedited Sunset Review of AD Duty Order on Paper School Supplies
The USITC has amended the schedule to carry out its expedited sunset review of the AD duty order on lined paper school supplies from mainland China due to the complexity of this review. The staff report will now be placed in the non-public record on 3 January 2018 and a public version will be issued thereafter. Comments and statements are due by 9 January 2018 and may not contain new factual information.

New Section 337 Investigation on Beverage Containers
The USITC has instituted an investigation to determine whether imports of certain insulated beverage containers, components, labels and packaging materials thereof from Hong Kong and mainland China are violating Section 337 of the 1930 Tariff Act by reason of unfair competition through false advertising and passing off. The complainant requests that after this investigation the USITC issue a limited exclusion order as well as cease and desist orders.

Remedy Input Sought in Section 337 Investigation of Mobile Device Holders
The USITC has decided to partially review the partial initial determination of the administrative law judge in charge of the on-going Section 337 probe of certain mobile device holders and components thereof from Hong Kong and mainland China. Accordingly, interested parties may submit input by 30 November on the form of remedy, if any, that should be ordered.
