Cast Iron Soil Pipe Will Face AD/CV Duties. The USITC has issued a final affirmative injury determination in its AD and CV investigations of cast iron soil pipe from mainland China. As a result, the DOC will issue AD and CV duty orders on imports of subject merchandise.
Preliminary Affirmative AD/CV Injury Determinations on Structural Steel. The USITC has issued a preliminary affirmative injury determination in its AD and CV investigations of fabricated structural steel from mainland China. As a result, the DOC will continue its AD and CV duty investigations of imports of subject merchandise, with preliminary determinations scheduled for about 1 May (CV) and 15 July (AD).
New Section 337 Investigation on Semiconductor Devices. The USITC has instituted an investigation to determine whether imports of certain semiconductor devices, integrated circuits and consumer products containing the same from mainland China and one other source are violating Section 337 of the 1930 Tariff Act by reason of patent infringement. The investigation covers devices at the 65 nanometre and smaller technology nodes, integrated circuits incorporating such semiconductor devices, and smartphones and televisions containing the same. The complainant requests that after this investigation the USITC issue a limited exclusion order as well as cease and desist orders.
Section 337 Advisory Opinion Proceeding on Robotic Vacuum Cleaners. The USITC has initiated an advisory opinion proceeding in connection with its Section 337 probe of certain robotic vacuum cleaners and components thereof from various sources, including mainland China, to determine whether eight products violate the limited exclusion order and cease and desist orders currently in place on subject merchandise.
