USITC Notices

Process to Modify HTSUS Underway. As required by statute, the USITC has initiated an investigation that will lead to recommendations to the president on necessary modifications to the Harmonised Tariff Schedule of the United States to implement recent amendments to the global Harmonised System. The recommendations will reflect the package of amendments approved on 28 June by the World Customs Organisation. The USITC expects to issue preliminary draft modifications to the HTSUS for public comment in March 2020. Following the public comment period, the USITC will finalise the necessary modifications to the HTSUS and submit a report to the president in October 2020.
